Ticats Continue Partnership With Corus

Hamilton, Canada – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that it has extended its broadcast agreement with Corus Radio Hamilton to continue as their exclusive radio broadcaster for all Ticats games. Additionally, in a first for Canadian radio and for the Canadian Football League, CHML’s brother station Y108 will simulcast the Ticats games, becoming the first FM station in the country to broadcast CFL games.

As the voice for CFL football in the Greater Hamilton Area for the past 40 years, CHML and now Y108 will continue to offer outstanding coverage of all Ticats games with CHML’s own Rick Zamperin providing play-by-play coverage. CFL legend and Canadian Football Hall of Famer Ron Lancaster joins Rick this season as colour analyst bringing his unmatched CFL experience as a player and CFL commentator having spent 10 years with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

“To be able to extend our long term relationship with Corus and CHML is tremendously exciting both to the organization and our fans” said Tiger-Cats president Scott Mitchell. “We bring the best and highest quality media coverage in the CFL to all of our fans in TigerTown across Southern Ontario and we’ve added to that with the only radio simulcast in the league on Y108. To top it all off, adding CFL Hall of Famer and legendary CFL coach Ron Lancaster to the broadcast team will undoubtedly give our fans a unique perspective and unmatched insight into our game from one of the CFL’s most recognized stars.”

CHML will also be premiering The Casey Printers Show, featuring Hamilton Ticats quarterback Casey Printers. This weekly, hour-long live program will feature game analysis, insight and behind-the-scenes coverage as Printers engages his call-in audience in a colourful debate. The Casey Printers Show airs every Monday at 7 p.m. ET starting June 23, 2008.

“Corus is pleased to extend our official radio broadcast partnership with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats,” said Suzanne Carpenter, General Manager, Corus Radio Hamilton. “With the addition of the Y108 simulcast, this partnership builds on our commitment to serve our listeners and bring our hometown team to its fans in Hamilton and the Golden Horseshoe.”

The pre-season kick-off airs on Thursday, June 12 with the regular season starting on Thursday, June 26, both at 7 p.m. ET. For a complete broadcast schedule please visit www.ticats.ca.
