Q: Do you have any idea where you might go in Wednesday’s draft?

Giguere: I try not to think about it too much and not think I’ll end up first round. I just want to get a shot and go with a team that needs me and wants me to play.

Q: Your young football career has come a long way and led you to this week, now your on the cusp of a pro career, how did it all start for you?

Giguere: I started playing football in high school and really got a feel for it. I love the sport. When I got into high school, there was a football team, I tried out and it just went on from there. I think football helped me a lot in school actually. You don’t have much free time so you have to make the most of the time you have. You have to be disciplined, so it helped me a lot.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your football days so far?

Giguere: In January, I went to the East/West Shrine Bowl in Houston. I got to measure up against the best players in the NCAA, and I was coached by great NFL people. It was a great experience.

Q: Who was the best player you faced during your college career?

Giguere: Probably Eric Maranda from Laval University. He just signed with the Argonauts this season. He’s a great linebacker. I think it’s just his speed and his reactions. He anticipates the play well and recognizes the play really fast and flows to the ball really quickly.

Q: What are you going to miss about your days at Sherbrooke?

Giguere: Just hanging around with the guys, being with the guys in the locker room. Just the camaraderie.

Q: Speaking of camaraderie, did the E-Camp give you a chance to meet a lot of players you’re going to be drafted with and get to know them?

Giguere: A lot of guys at the E-Camp I played against or I know because they are the best players in the country. It’s always fun, it’s a good vibe. Everybody here is dedicated and passionate about the game, so it makes it a whole lot of fun.

Q: You’ve been one of the top prospects from the start, how many teams sat down to interview you at the E-Camp?

Giguere: Six teams.

Q: What kind of questions are they hitting you with?

Giguere: Pretty much the same questions you’re asking. They want to know who you are, where you’re from, and what type of person you are. You might think it’s stressful but they make it real easy for you.

Q: Is there anyone already in the CFL that you compare yourself to or try to emulate?

Giguere: No not really. Some people say Jason Clermont, but I don’t know.

Q: How does Samuel Giguere get himself ready for a game?

Giguere: I try to study the gameplan well beforehand. So the night before everything is done, I know the gameplan, I know the playbook and just relax, take it easy and not come in and be too stressed out.

Q: What’s something fans out there might be surprised to find out about you?

Giguere: I speak French (Laughs).
