MONTREAL – Let the first quarterback controversy of the season begin.

According to a report by TSN, the Montreal Alouettes are planning on using two quarterbacks to start off the year.

Head coach Tom Higgins clarified that Jonathan Crompton will start off the games but the team may opt to bring in Dan LeFevour as an added element during certain situations.

Crompton took over pivot duties midway through last season and helped turn Montreal’s season around and eventually to the East finals. LeFevour is coming off knee surgery and saw his first action in the team’s second pre-season game.

Last season, Crompton threw for 2,482 yards and 11 touchdowns with eight interceptions.

In six games with the Ticats, LeFevour threw four touchdowns and four interceptions.
