A Look At The Roughriders Logo Through The Ages

The Roughriders have been around for over 60 years, yet their logo has not changed as many times as you’d think.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have made an update to their logo as they change parts of the colour scheme and drop Grey entirely from the logo.

Sportslogos.Net Chris Creamer breaks down the changes in this side-by-side.

But now that we know what the new logo will look like, the CFL on Instagram took a look back at the Riders logos from years past…

A history of the @sskroughriders logos.

The Riders have used the logo from the 60s & 80s as recently as last season when they wore the logo on their helmets for a throwback night. Seen below worn by WR Nic Demski.

We have seen a few applications of the new Riders logo already as they circulated images from their new football operations facility at their new stadium.

Do you like the new, tweaked look?

  1. Nicest logo 1966-1984 , has a certain amount of class to looks the most professional . The next logos are just a
changed copy of it anyways . If you are going to change the logo , make a
Wholesale change make it new in all ways .

  2. Nice clean update. I like the use of both the new logo and the retro 66-84. This combo adds reflective flare and newness to the classiest CFL club. Go Rider’s Go!
