Atlanta Falcons Podcast A Fan Of The Box J Boys?



We all know the CFL has roots down south but just how deep those roots run can surprise you in many different ways.  This time it came in the form of a shoutout to the infamous Box J Boys of Hamilton on the official Atlanta Falcons Podcast!

With NFL free agency in full siwng, LB Justin Durant signed with the Atlanta Falcons and he is of course, the brother of Saskatchewan Roughriders QB Darian Durant.  This sparked a CFL conversation on the official Atlanta Falcons Podcast.

Now we all know the Box J Boys are well known in CFL circles, but apparently their reach goes beyond that.  When asked who their favourite CFL team is, podcast host Jay Adams (@FalconsJAdams on Twitter) said his favourite team is the Hamilton Tiger-Cats because of the Box J Boys!  Click the video below and skip ahead to the 15 minute mark to hear more!


In addition, co-host Matt Moore (@FalconsMMoore) said his favourite CFL squad is the Edmonton Eskimos because QB David Archer who used to play for the Falcons, eventually came up North and finished his career with the Edmonton Eskimos.  Archer also played for the Ottawa Rough Riders  (1996) and the Sacramento Gold Miners (1993-1994) and the San Antonio Texans (1995)as part of the CFL expansion into the United States.  Archer is pictured below playing for Ottawa.
