Let’s Talk Ambassador and linebacker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Shea Emry speaks out about his personal experiences and brings a few of his football friends to try out activities that helped him cope with mental illness.
On Bell Let’s Talk Day, Emry who has battled being bullied and depression throughout his life, brought a few of his former teammates to experience ways to cope with mental illness. Emry played host with his co-founded initiative, The Wellmen Project.
The Wellmen Project is raising the next generation of men to be mentally well. They create radical adventures in nature that test a man’s mind body and soul. A few of the activities they participated in included; yoga, cooking, starting a fire, chopping wood, axe throwing and roasting food.
