Congrats Corporal Riddell!
Thanks to Red Tag Vacations, the CFL was able to send their One Millionth Fan through the gate to the Grey Cup this season. On Sunday, Corporal Kevin Riddell was the One Millionth Fan and it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person and for being as awesome as he is, he’s our CFL Beauty of the Week!
The CFL issued the following press release about the event!
TORONTO — Nearly 108,000 fans passed through the gates of a CFL stadium this weekend, pushing this season’s total attendance figure to well over one million. The CFL’s one millionth fan, Kevin Riddell, walked through Sunday night’s sold out TD Place Stadium in Ottawa as the hometown REDBLACKS faced off against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Corporal Riddell, a Canadian military personnel stationed at CFB North Bay will be doing his fourth tour of duty later this year. A huge REDBLACKS fan, Riddell often drives four hours in order to take in a CFL game in the nation’s capital.
“None of this has really all sunk in yet. At first I thought it was a joke when I was approached by staff coming into the stadium, but soon realized I just won a trip of a lifetime. Being a single dad with two kids, the Grey Cup has always just been a TV thing,” said contest winner, Kevin Riddell. “It’s always been a dream of mine to watch a Grey Cup game live, and now I’ll get to do that for the first time in my life. This is all pretty incredible.”
As the one millionth fan this season, Riddell has been awarded an exclusive CFL/RedTag.ca Grey Cup package which includes: two roundtrip flights, a pair of tickets to this year’s Grey Cup game, three-night hotel accommodations and an official game ball signed by CFL Commissioner, Jeffrey Orridge.
The 103rd Grey Cup – presented by Shaw, will take place on November 29, 2015 at Investors Group Field, aired LIVE at 6:00pm ET on TSN/RDS and ESPN2.
