Rider Nation flocks to Arizona for some sunshine and hockey

See what happens when 500 Riders fans make the trip to Arizona to see the Coyotes take on the Ducks.

Rider Nation continues to impress and show how strong their following is. On Tuesday night, the Arizona Coyotes played host to the Roughriders fans in attendance. The game happened to feature  fellow Saskatchewan native, Olympic gold medalist, Stanley Cup champ, and brother to Canadian receiver on the Riders,  Ryan Getzlaf.

Here are some pictures from the the the Riderville invasion! First stop was the Whiskey Rose where a Saskatchewan Roughriders pre-game party began.

With his brother in town to take on the desert dawgs, 2013 Most Outstanding Canadian, Chris Getzlaf was in attendance interacting with fans, signing a few autographs and taking a few snaps.

If you didn’t notice the sign in the background, even in Arizona, Riders are being warned by the Stampeders!

Time passed and it was time to drop the puck on the game.

Chris Getzlaf and Rider Nation was honoured during the game and made an appearance on the jumbotron! We just wonder what Ryan thinks of the Coyotes jersey that his brother is wearing?

With hundreds of folks from his home province, Ryan Getzlaf showed off some of his grit by dropping the mitts in a rare captain vs. captain scrap with Shane Doan.

Following the game, the Rider fans in attendance had the opportunity to take a picture at centre ice, BUT FIRST…..

Even the Saskatchewan native, Ryan Getzlaf came out to greet the fans.
