Sights, Sounds and Social: Week 20

Records broken, bright future in MTL and Regular Season in the books

Week 20, the last week in the #CFL Regular Season. Some teams had their playoff positioning locked in, some were still fighting and others… well, they want to see what they have for 2017.

Week 20 kicked off with a meeting between two playoff bound teams: #Bombers and #REDBLACKS. Although the #Bombers were able to come away with the victory, a #Lions win the following day would end WPG’s chances of hosting a home playoff game.

There was some exciting news for #Bombers fans as Justin Medlock set a new single-season record for FGs in a year.

Saturday marked the final day of the Regular Season and we had a TRIPLEHEADER!

First up, we had the #Ticats hosting the #Als. The #Ticats were already set with their playoff positioning, knowing that they would be hosting the East Semi-Final. However, the #Als could not say the same as they will miss out on the #GCPlayoffs.

But it is not all doom and gloom in MTL, the recent play of Vernon Adams Jr. is certainly a big step in the right direction:

The #Als and Adams Jr. were able to finish their season on a 3 game Winning Streak as they head in to 2017.

With the #Bombers defeating the #REDBLACKS on Friday Night, the #Esks knew that they would be crossing over to the East.

But don’t tell this to James Franklin and the rest of the #Esks who took the field against the #Argos

Franklin only needed 3 quarters to secure a insurmountable lead and these numbers:

Our final Regular Season Game of the Year had the #Lions hosting the #Riders.

The “Manny Show” has been on full display this season and this was evident early on in this contest:

The “Show” did not stop there…

The #Lions definitely look #GCPlayoffs ready!
