Social Media Reacts To The 2015 #CFLDraft

Last night the CFL held it’s annual Canadian Draft and as always there was a whirlwind of activity on Social Media.  We recap all the reactions from draft picks, teams, players and media!

The night started off with a bang as the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats completed a pre-draft trade that saw Hamilton trade it’s first round pick!

Twitter reacted immediately as Bomben’s Alouette team mates responded to the news while new Ticats teammates made him feel right at home……

Then before the draft got going Peter Dyakowski posted a tweet reflecting on drafts past and his happiness about not being an Argo. Well, OL Wayne Smith had a good zinger for him…

Then the draft got underway and with the 1st overall pick, the REDBLACKS did something very special, allowing OL Alex Mateas to call in his OWN selection!

His family (from Ottawa) were very excited to have him sign in his home town!

Next came a big night for Laurier Football as two Goldenhawks were taken in round 1, a first in school history!

We saw the two Laval boys go off the board. A bond those two gentleman will share for life!

We at The Snap have a soft spot for this next guy as WR Nic Demski took over the CFL Snapchat and posted these snaps and tweets…

He eventually went to the Saskatchewan Roughriders

Thankful to be brought to such a great organization! Can’t wait to start this off! #RiderNation

Even Tweeting current Riders WR Rob Bagg

Next came WR Addison Richards who was thrilled to be taken by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Richards went ahead of more highly touted WR Lemar Durant who was seemingly shocked about how far he slipped in the draft eventually going to the Stamps at the end of the 2nd round

Next came reaction from the CFL prospects who were taken by NFL teams but still may have CFL aspirations one day…

Marc-O Brouillette was especially excited about the potential for a Canadian QB…

Finally, a great moment came as the Calgary Stampeders took QB Andrew Buckley with the final pick of the CFL Draft. We have a feeling he won’t be Mr.Irrelevant
