Two Ontario rivals engage in a . . . different kind of Twitter war

The Ottawa REDBLACKS and Toronto Argonauts only played twice in 2014, and on the field they split their two meetings. Off the field, though, the battle continues in a different form.

These aren’t your average Twitter wars — no, this one is based on the popular former ABC show Boy Meets World.

It starts out with Clay Chisholm, an Argo blogger and Rider fan, showing some appreciation for CFL teams and their fan engagement.

The REDBLACKS’ response was innocent, and little did they know what they were about to trigger . . .

Obviously, the REDBLACKS and Argos’ Twitter handlers have a little extra time on their hands after missing out on the playoffs.  Then of course the Als had to show up and make things awkward.

That was the last Tweet ever exchanged. Way to ruin it, @MTLAlouettes.

You can see the thread on Twitter HERE. Meanwhile, the Argos, REDBLACKS, and Als have once again shown us how professional sports teams can have fun and effectively engage with fans through social media.
